Pearl Harbor DVDs premiere this week
 Pearl
Harbor is coming to DVD in two versions this week (Dec. 4). The
60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition DVD is a 2-disc edition that
retails for $29.99, while the 60th Anniversary Commemorative Gift
Set is a 3-disc edition that includes a 53-minute feature National
Geographic Beyond the Movie: Pearl Harbor and a National Geographic
60th Anniversary Commemorative map, and retails for $49.99. Then, on
May 14, 2002, Buena Vista is releasing a Vista
Series edition as a
3-disc set which includes the director's cut of the film that
was not shown in theaters. The additional footage may earn it an R-rating for additional war-time scenes. Retail

Jurassic Park III coming Dec. 11
 Jurassic
Park III is coming to DVD on December 11 as a Special
Edition DVD. It features the most in-depth feature on ILM's
(Industrial Light & Magic) visual special effects to date, a
guided tour of the Stan Winston Studio, a featurette on the new
dinosaurs featured in this film and a visit to a Montana dinosaur
dig site, a dinosaur turntable for a 3-D look at dinosaurs, the
making-of featurette, an audio commentary, storyboards, production
drawings, games, and more. Two DVD versions are available, a widescreen version
and a full frame
version. Both versions feature DTS
and Dolby
Digital surround sound. Retail price is $26.98 each. You can order

buy Jurassic Park III before December 31, 2001. Choose from

 Jurassic Park III

Jurassic Park movies, plus a fourth bonus disc entitled "Beyond

bonus features for all three movies. This 4-disc set carries a

Disney
DVD Releases for 2002
 Disney
is planning to release Atlantis:
The Lost Empire to DVD on January 29, 2002. As with many
other recent full-feature animation films, Disney is releasing two versions: a standard
edition and a 2-disc Collector's Edition.

This release is followed by
direct-to-video/DVD releases of Cinderella II: Dreams Come True
on February 26, 2002 and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II on
March 19, 2002. Also releasing on March 19 is the original Hunchback
of Notre Dame. Then in October, we'll see the Platinum
Edition release of Beauty and the Beast. Those
of you who have seen Disney's recent release of Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs: Platinum Edition should know that a Disney Platinum
Edition DVD release is something to look forward to.
