Can THX post-processing be used with DTS and DTS-ES soundtracks?

Yes!  For the same reasons that THX post-processing works so well with Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital 5.1 EX soundtracks, THX post-processing can enhance the surround sound experience with DTS 5.1, DTS-ES Matrix, and DTS-ES Discrete soundtracks.

How do I connect my DVD-Audio/Video player or SACD player?

Your home theater receiver needs to provide multi-channel analog audio inputs.  Use three pairs (6 total) of analog audio connectors (via RCA jacks) to connect the analog audio output (5.1-channel output) of the DVD-Audio player or SACD player to the multi-channel (or 5.1-channel) analog audio input of the home theater receiver.

How do I connect my audio CD player?

Use a pair of analog stereo audio interconnects (via RCA jacks) to connect the stereo output of the CD player to the “CD” stereo audio input of the receiver.

How do I connect my VCR?

Use a pair of analog stereo audio interconnects (via RCA jacks) to connect the stereo output of the VCR to the stereo audio input of the receiver with a label like “Video 1”, “Video 2”, “Video 3”, etc.

How do I connect my analog TV?

You can hear the TV's stereo soundtrack through your home theater receiver and speaker system by connecting TV's audio output to your receiver.  Use a pair of analog stereo audio interconnects (via RCA jacks) to connect the stereo output of the TV to the stereo audio input of the receiver with a label like “Video 1”, “Video 2”, “Video 3”, etc.

How do I connect my Digital TV or HDTV?

If you have an integrated Digital TV or HDTV, then you can output to Dolby Digital soundtrack from your TV to your home theater receiver for decoding and amplification.  Use either the optical digital audio connection (Toslink) or the coaxial digital audio connection.

How do I connect my turntable (i.e., record player)?

Use a pair of analog stereo audio interconnects (via RCA jacks) to connect the stereo output of the turntable to the stereo audio input of the receiver with a label that reads “Phono”.  If your home theater receiver does not have a “Phono” input, then you will need a phono pre-amplifier.  Read this section of our Home Theater Receiver Buying Guide for an explanation and more detail.
