Summary: "Beauty is in the eye of the
beholder." The statement couldn't be more true in this hilarious
comedy Shallow Hal in which a boy, Hal (Jack Black), is traumatized by his dying
father's last words and grows up to think the most important thing in the world
is to score with beautiful women. Hal is a superficial skirt chaser
who wonders why he is shallow after comments from his coworkers about his
dating habits. When he is accidentally stuck in the elevator with a
self-help guru, Hal asks what he can do to get past superficial
beauty. The
guru helps Hal see the inner beauty in the women he meets. So when
he meets and falls head over heels with his gorgeous girlfriend (Paltrow)
he doesn't understands why she doesn't take his compliments well or that
his best friend (Alexander) cannot appreciate her beauty. The
difference in perspectives creates non-stop fun and the biggest laughs.
