Summary: What could you possibly ask for in life, when you're a successful, ambitious, and beautiful platinum blonde reporter who is rapidly moving up in her journalism career, and is engaged to a young and successful baseball player who is at the top of his game?  That's Lanie's, as played by Angelina Jolie.  But when she is assigned to a camera man (Edward Burns) who she cannot stand and is told by a homeless street psychic (Tony Shalhoub) who is rarely wrong that she only has a week left to live, everything about her life seems to have instantaneously lost meaning.  Lanie undergoes a crisis and desperately seeks to find meaning with her life with the time she supposedly has left.

The performances in this romantic comedy was uneven, in my opinion.  Angelina Jolie and Edward Burns didn't seem to completely hit it off as opposites of a love interest.  Some performances were good, while others left me unconvinced.  Stockard Channing and Angelina Jolie had a great scene when Lanie interviewed Stockard as the top news anchor of her network who gave up true love for success in her hournalism career.  Life Or Something Like It is an interesting story concept, but I found myself less than completely satisfied with the movie.  It might be worth a rental if you're big fans of Angelina Jolie and Edward Burns.
