Summary: How far should a father go to save his son's life?  John Q. (Denzel Washington) is currently down on his job because of work hour cut-backs and he is struggling to support his family with just a part-time job.  He adores his wife and son and tries his best to provide financial and emotional support.  Unexpectedly during his son's baseball game, John Q. shockingly discovers that his son only has days to live.  His HMO insurance won't cover the astronomical cost of a much-needed operation, and the hospital director refuses to put his child's name on the donor waiting list for a heart transplant.  After desperate efforts to raise money to get on the list, he is pushed past the line to try to save his son.  The extent to what he decides to do in order to save his son is likely to shock you as it did me.  Sit back and be ready to cry and cheer for the family at its crisis.

Special Features: Beyond the movie features: original documentary - Fighting for Care features an in-depth look into the health care crisis stemming from an organ donor shortage and the lives that have been affected, fast track trivia subtitle track with direct access to additional features; All-access pass features: commentary with director Nick Cassavettes, screenwriter James Kearns, producer Mark Burg and director of photography Rogier Stoffers; original documentary: Behind the scenes of John Q., deleted scenes with optional director commentary, theatrical trailer, theatrical press kit
