Summary: Jackie Chan returns in this sequel as the Dragon
Mao, a Navy police officer who stopped some pirates in the first movie.
Dragon Mao is tasked with putting an end to the corrupt police precincts in Hong Kong.
The humorous slapstick-style martial arts action, for which Jackie Chan movies are known for, is mediocre at best.
The acting is superficial, and is on par with the English dub. (That’s a bad thing.)
This brings me to my next
point...
I think all foreign movies should offer the original audio track, with the original native dialog.
This is not the case with this DVD. There are no original Chinese audio tracks.
The only soundtrack is the English dub, in re-mixed Dolby Digital 5.1.
I was not impressed with the soundtrack. Nor was I impressed with the picture quality. The film source was scratched and the picture frequently appears soft.
The cover boasts a critic’s quote that
Project A2 is a “One of the 10 best Jackie Chan films...
ever”. I would have to strongly disagree. That may be true at the time of this movie’s release back in
1983, but it is certainly not true today. There are far better Jackie Chan movies made since.
Hong Kong cinema and Jackie Chan flicks have come a long way. If you
must, rent the movie.

Invincible, Malevolent, Asunder

Additional Notes: Unless we specify otherwise, the
video and audio quality are very good when their grades are "A-"
or better. Only the highest number of channels of surround sound
format is listed (e.g., Dolby Digital 5.1). If there are both Dolby
Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 soundtracks, then both are listed. All
DVD-Video discs are backwards compatible with stereo-only playback
systems.
