The Story
Derian McCall (Rebecca De Mornay) is a former undercover detective who once got too close to her subject. Now retired from law enforcement, she is a private investigator. One day, the wife of a successful businessman, Anthea (Dana Delany), hires Derian to investigate her husband's possible infidelity, Michael Farrow-Smith (Kiefer Sutherland). When Derian follows Michael around and finds nothing suspicious, Anthea is not satisfied. Instead, she proposes Derian to seduce her husband, to see if he would give in to "The Right Temptation". (Hmmm... eyebrows going up)
When
Derian tries to get close to Michael, it doesn't seem that he's
interested. But then again, maybe he is. Now Derian finds
herself truly attracted to Michael, and she has to figure out a way to
remove herself from this situation. Things start to get hairy when
Derian's photographer partner is missing right after he calls and says
that he has something to show her. Will Derian realize that
something foul is going
on? The A-grade cast made this movie much more believable and
enjoyable than had such a B-grade movie would with just a mediocre cast. If you're into
sexy thrillers, this is worth a look, though the plot is quite
predictable after you get the gist of the story.
There's not much by way of bonus material -- only some theatrical trailers and talent files for the cast and crew.
Video & Audio
The image quality of this anamorphic widescreen DVD is very good. The colors are accurate and saturated, with good shadow details. The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound is well balanced and effective.
