Summary: The rich snobbish guy that you love to hate is serving his sentence in a 
   town full of warm, loving, accommodating people.  It is the story of unexpected 
   tender romance, friendship, and true love that will sure to bring tears to your 
   eyes.  I truly enjoyed this movie and it is a must see for all romance movie fans.  
   Unfortunately, I think this DVD is a little pricey considering the amount of bonus 
   materials included.

The Story

Samantha (Leelee Sobieski) grows up in a town where the people care for one another.  Jasper (Josh Hartnett) is her life-long friend and current boyfriend who has devoted his life to Sam.  Kelley Morse (Chris Klein) attends a private school in the other side of town.  Their lives become intertwined after a reckless car race between Kelley and Jasper.  Kelley and Jasper are sentenced to a summer of manual labor to rebuild "Mabel's Table", a diner which is family-owned and passed down from Samantha's grandmother.

Samantha soon falls in love with Kelley.  She keeps the romance a secret from Jasper.  But that isn't the only secret she is keeping.  Everything changes when Sam tells Kelley what she has been keeping from him.  This is a wonderfully romantic, tear-jerking tale of first love that you just have to watch for yourself and be surprised by the power of love.

The Extras

This DVD comes with quite a few bonus materials, including a theatrical trailer, Fox Flicks, five TV Spots, sound track promo spot, and the music video "Where You Are" by Jessica Simpson.  The Fox Flicks section features theatrical trailers for Anna And The King, Anywhere But Here, The Beach, Drive Me Crazy, Ever After, Romeo and Juliet, and Simply Irresistible.  The hit music video "Where You Are" by Jessica Simpson featuring Nick Lachey is a great hit portraying the chemistry between Chris Klein's and Leelee Sobieski's characters in the movie.

Video & Audio

The image quality of this anamorphically DVD is first rate.  The image is very detailed and the colors are beautifully saturated, paying tribute to the beautiful cinematography.  The Dolby Digital sound track was wonderfully mixed to accommodate the beautiful background music, while jazzing up the car racing scene and the explosion of the gas station-diner.

Recommendation

"Here on Earth" is a great romantic love story that will sure bring your love one closer to your heart and appreciate living life to the fullest.  It is a great movie for many to enjoy, again and again (MPAA rating is PG-13). The DVD is a little expensive, considering the amount of bonus materials.
